Shetland Pony visits for outreach groups

Outreach Groups

We bring one of our Shetland ponies to your group — whether you’re based at a community venue, day centre or outreach location. Our visits are calm, flexible and designed around the needs of adults with disabilities.

No experience of horses is needed. We handle everything — you just let your group enjoy it.

What to expect from a visit

We’ve worked with a range of outreach groups supporting adults with varied needs — including those who communicate verbally, through signing, or through gesture. Our approach is to follow the lead of each individual, supporting them to engage in whatever way feels right for them.

Visits are unhurried. There’s no pressure to interact in any particular way, and we’re experienced at reading what each person is comfortable with.

  • Suitable for adults with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities
  • No prior experience of horses required – we guide everyone through at their own pace
  • Members can stroke, groom or simply spend time with the pony – whatever they’re comfortable with
  • We arrive in a horsebox (side loading) – please ensure there’s suitable space to park

What outreach groups say

“Julie is always very well prepared and very accommodating. She is always happy to go the extra mile to ensure our members have a great time and enjoy their time at her venue. We have visited a number of times, and our members have a thoroughly enjoyable experience every time.”
